QUESTION AND ANSWER RECAP

Q: Is there a difference between disposable and reusable masks?
A: Disposable masks are one-time use and have 90% filtration. Reusable masks are a 4-ply and 2-way stretch. If you are going to use the reusable mask, Singer M.Tucker recommends putting a logo on it so students would know which side is the outside of the mask. The reusable masks could be taken home washed and worn again.

Q: How many hand washes do you get out of a portable sink considering that it recommended that each person must wash their hands for 20 seconds?
A: Singer M. Tucker anticipates that you will get 40-50 washings per 5-gallon water tank.

Q: Are the Kari-Out Containers Recyclable?
A: Yes, they are recyclable, but they will need to be placed in recycling bins. Cater To You does not plan on reusing the Kari-Out containers. The Kari-Out containers have been selected due to the fact they can be placed in ovens and hot boxes to hold the meal at the proper food temperature.

Q: What is the lead time for ordering masks and gloves if they will be needed for school reopening in August?
A: Right now there is a large stock in masks and gloves coming into the warehouse in June. Singer M. Tucker is suggesting that preorders are placed ASAP so the products can be warehoused and ready for your reopening.

Q: Are portable sinks currently in stock?
A: Lead time for the sinks is 2 weeks. If you are planning on opening in August/September it is recommended to place orders ASAP so they can be delivered when your school opens.

Q: Are the KN95 masks NIOSH and FDA Approved?
A: KN95 masks are FDA approved, not NIOSH approved. The NIOSH certification usually has to do with medical grade masks.

Q: Is there a preferred method: UV Light vs. Spray Disinfection in a school setting?
A: UV light seems to be the way to move forward in order to make sure everything is sanitized. For the spray disinfection, not enough research has been done on how the solutions are affecting the environment.

Q: How would I know which disinfectant I could use in my school environment?
A: Product safety and effectiveness could change as you are using it. When using an EPA registered disinfectant, you should read method of application to ensure it will safely kill any of the pathogens that could cause infection.

Q: Are all handheld forehead thermometers effective and recommended as long as they are FDA approved?
A: Singer M. Tucker has vetted many thermometers and feel that they have selected the best ones that are FDA approved.

Q: What is the difference between vinyl and latex gloves and do you stock children-sized gloves?
A: Singer M. Tucker stocks XS gloves that could fit a student’s hand, but would depend on the age of the student. Latex gloves are made of natural rubber. Vinyl gloves are synthetically made and are usually a looser fit. It is important to note that latex gloves have recently been banned in the state of California.
